Hey...now that I know how to post pics...I will show you my portfolio...(providing you don't get bored..if you do, let me know.)
This sign was completed recently. It is made of Western Red Cedar, stained, with a steel frame underneath. It is 16" x 3" long. The face on the front is 1/8" Lexan. All the copy is done in vinyl and applied in reverse..it protects the sign face from vandals. I spaced it all off the face with 1/4" spacers to allow a good air flow between it and the face of the sign. A must up here in a rain forest...Moss will grow everywhere.
The painting in the middle is done in acrylics and depicts the old train coming across the old railroad tressle, circa 1880-1915. The tressle/bridge is behind me. The ramp goes up to and over the tressle, which spans Morse Creek (Great steelhead river ) It is part of the waterfront trail system that starts on Ediz Hook and goes east towards Port Townsend...30 miles away.
I will be doing another one probably this winter as the trail expands.

I also would like to see a close up. Maybe at a different angle where you don't see any reflection? Keep up the beautiful work!

Jackson, I haven't been on for a while but this is a fine sign! The grain and differentiation of wood color balances with the overall feel! See a little glare, would love to see this straight on. Great job, this is a keeper!

Great looking sign. I am currently working on four MDO signs for the State of Hawaii DLNR. I decided to do reverse cut vinyl lettering on a sheet of 1/4 Lexan for the same reason (vandalism) The sign is all about rules of what is not allowed in a particular Natural Area Reserve. This type of sign tends to bring out the vandals. Especially in remote areas like a reserve.
I was wondering how many spacers you used. The bolt pattern on the perimeter seems to be at about 12" spacing (counting bolts makes me wonder if thats not 16' x 4'?), but I think I see some dots in the field as well.
What material did you use for spacers? We don't have the mold problem here but I still would like to eliminate fogging even though all the graphics will be applied to the Lexan. The 3/4" MDO will just be painted with the background color & serve as a support for spanning the sign between two posts.
