This is a design I'm working on for my wife's gift store; I'm doing my signs under the same name for now (building up courage to go fulltime). I'm fairly new at this, so I'd appreciate your comments and ideas. Thanks for the help. -

Eric, The Gucci color theme is always a winner. I would however enlarge the back shield for two reasons. One, I think the overall balance of the sign needs it, and two, I think it is important to get your wares a little more readable from a distance. A little more flowing swoop on the ribbon. Just my opinions.... The overall looks great. Jack

Much better!

Have you considered putting a faint shadow behind "Rosewood Cottage"? It seems to need just a little bit of "pop".

Looks really nice! I would change some kerning.
The F and T in Gifts are too far apart creating a split in the word. Maybe bump them together.

The "O's" in the end of Rosewood look shorter than the rest. They need to be a little taller.
All curved letters need to protrude slightly above and below the line for balance.

Also the "T's" in cottage might be bumped together to fix that space.

Maybe a little more margin in the bottom panel so copy isn't right against the border.

Overall...beautiful design! [Smile]

Ok, I did a little kerning, enlarged the bottom section and added some shadow; all great suggestions. How's it looking? Better color choice for the shadow?

I think it looks great! What type of sign will you make. I think something dimensional is in order with the design. But I may be wrong!

Thank you all for your help and encouragement. I will do a little more fine tuning and then get to work on the real thing. I agree with Amy, that it would look good as a carved or sandblasted sign; don't know if I'm ready for that yet...we'll see.

This is a great place! Thanks again.

Nice Eric, I'm really liking it. The only thing that might be worth a try is to distort the Rosewood Cottage text along the curve rather than running it with the curve as the baseline.

Still, it looks fantastic the way it is.

Very nice. I would love to see that carved or sandblasted.

The only thing I see that bothers me a little is there is a little disharmony in Cottage. My eyes want to jump over to the AG because of the flourishy part of the A and the heaviness of the G. Just for fun, if you know how to edit anchor points (nodes) try eliminating the lower swoosh in the A and make the lower left verticle part of the G just a tad thinner. I would also take the C in cottage and shorten the hanging part of it a little, sort of like the upper right part of the G. Just minor details but it might help. Overall a great design IMO.

Hi,
I had to go into your parent directory to see the pics because I couldn't see them on the bb.

By the way...I do like your sign [Smile]
