these are photos of a job almost completed. I designed the logo and sold the main electrical signage for the restaurant. Landmark Sign Company here in Montgomery fabricated the channel letters and neon in-house.
the icing on the cake with this job was the "antique" signs that i am still producing for the bar and lounge. the owner's gave me free reign to make up the copy and content on all these signs.
i have been using techniques i learned at the mazeppa muster in 1999 from a workshop by dennis gerathy and phone conversations with my buddy mike meyer.
the antique signs were produced using scrap wood from my trash pile.

Great new/old signs Mark! Thanks for posting!
Even though we own and operate a full service Italian dining room, I don't understand the "Mountain Oysters" is that a regional joke? Once when we were in Reno Nevada an Italian hotel (the Eldorado) had "Fanny Bay" oysters on their menu. Since that's about 50 minutes from where we live on the west coast of Van. Isle. Can., we asked them where that was. The staff said it was "just outside of San Francisco"... we thought it was very funny, and helped perpetuate the misnomer during our stay! Please explain the "Mountain oysters"...

Lovely work Mark. Brian, I am surprised that you don't know what mountain oysters are. Even here in Australia every one knows that Prairie Oysters which is what they are called here are bulls testicles.

HA HA! Mark! Awesome signs! I love that kind of stuff.
I'll tell you that I was in the meat business for over 20 years. I won't tell you all of the stories that I know. You're Welcome.
