A little while ago, I had asked for some projector recommendations. Well, thanks to the input I received, I went and bought an overhead which I'm very pleased with.
One of my biggest regrets is that despite having invested a significant amount of time learning to hand letter in school, I never developed it further after I left. I'm still slow as molasses and pretty shakey too. So, I've made up my mind to keep practicing until I'm either sick of it, or half-decent at it.
Here's one of my new projects that I had a lot of fun with. There's nothing quite like watching a sign come out of your brush. I tried a few things I hadn't done before and was happy that there were no major disasters.
The ironic thing is, despite what the sign actually says, I think I made some poor choices in the layout. I see a lot of problems where it could have been better, but I'm not going to rip it apart here like I usually do. I just thought I'd share it. I don't mind constructive criticism at all, so if you've got something to say - feel free.

Hey Bob, that's real nice work!!! As others said, don't change a thing!
Well, maybe try to keep the straw from blowing onto your board after you've painted it! ha!
Where did you go to school? George Brown.... if so...lucky you! don't worry about slow as molasses, it's supposed to be slow. The more you do, the faster you'll get and be so happy with your results that that you'll be MORE than half-decent.
Brush on, remember, hand jobs rule!

Sometimes Bob it is better to focus on the positive rather than looking for the negative. no matter how good a sign or design is we can always pick it apart, that's what we do best.
I find your post and the sign an inspiration, You can bet I'm gonna paint something this week because of it.
way to go, NICE SIGN!

Now that is awesome. Beautiful detailing. I like how the colour of the shadow matches the reddish tones in the leaf. Your choices are well thought out, and tastefully executed!

Thanks for all the comments. You guys have always been very encouraging to me. Yes, I went to George Brown.
I wouldn't have posted it if I wasn't happy with it... all I'm saying is there are some issues that I wish I had taken care of. I think I introduced too many conflicting angles - mostly because of the angle on the script. But I am pleased with it, ok?

Really nice job Bob, the conflicting angles thing doesn't jump out at me till you point it out but even then it's not a problem worth worrying about. To critique our own work is important, but we gotta give ourselves a pat on the back as well..........give yourself a pat on the back for that one buddy.
Is it all hand lettered, even the "lil stuff"?
Don't look shakey to me.
