Well, hurricane Floyd did the damage last time, this time it was a slow moving upper-level low pressure system. Glenn Taylor and his mom’s shop, Creative Graphics, was flooded yet again yesterday morning.
It’s such an unfortunate situation that they have been tried by such an event in the past and now need to deal with it again. I have every reason to believe that this is just another “bump” in the road that will be overcome by the Taylor family. Glenn and his mom are great, positive, good people. They continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Looking for the positive in such an event; it may be God’s way of telling Glenn he needed a break as he has been working a “bunch” in the last few weeks.

Sorry to hear that Glenn. If you get to read this, keep your head up high. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe you guys should move to the Smokies! You're in our thoughts. Take care.

What a bummer! Glenn and I have been talking so he knows how upset I am at this happening again, though, thank God to a much lesser extent, to one who is insured this time. but Bob G: Post the picture of Glenn himself wading, holding the umbrella, unmistakable, and I would post it if I knew how......
The chair under me is sitting on pads of squishy smelly newspaper, it even flooded into my shop (very minor) for the first time in 25 years. What has happened is that the earth, after 4 yrs of drought, is so parched that it can't let in a great volume of water. 6 1/2 inches in my coffee can out back.

I can't believe this! I know how busy Glenn is right now, and to have this thrown in on top. Yikes! Insurance or not, this would be demoralizing to have happen a second time in such a short period. But, I'm sure Glenn and his Mom will rise to the challenge. We're sending all the positive energy we can your way, Glenn!

So sorry to hear of this renewed misfortune. I've always respected Glenn as one of the most giving/sharing folks on this and other boards.
Perhaps it's time to consider moving the shop location to "higher ground".

Just talked to Glenn this afternoon, looks like his internet is down and they expect more rain through friday, He is very optomistic, said he's got more insurance than an arab has sand. His computers are fine and I beleive he only lost one peice of equipment. But if anyone has had to deal with water, then you know this will shut him down for a while.
He also said all the publicity has NOT helped business.
All he asks for is prayers, I think we can all afford one of those. lol

I, too was just thinking the other day how busy you must be Glenn, to not be seen or heard from too much lately. Can't say I see this crisis giving you any real kind of break from chores, but I hope you can set your production up somewhere else soon & get to doing what you love while hired help cleans up the mess.

NC Flood Report: Just heard where on Public Radio Linda Taylor, Glenn's mother, was being interviewed. She said that the waters had receded as quickly as they came, carpets were soaked, equipment got wet, and there was a line of dirt on the walls where the water had crested. She sounded, as Glenn told me himself, shaky because of the big Deja Vue. But she was clear about that this was a temporary problem, and not to be compared to the previous tragedy. quote: "Learned what a Flash Flood really means"
