Hey Girl... Uploading from another computer is just the same as uploading with your computer at home. First, you'll need a FTP program. The program will need some information like; DNS location or Web address log in, and password, and sometimes the actual path to your web. Most of the time it will be; www.splashsigns.com
It doesn't matter where your uploading from. All you'll need is the program, and a dial-up.
Windows has a FTP program built right into it. You can find it in your "Control Panel" then the "Add or Remove Programs" icon has FrontPage Express (if its not already loaded)
If you need some space for some photos, you can e-mail me to upload them. (For use on the BB) info@signsinthepines.com

Hello Adrienne - You don't need Cute FTP, you can do it directly from Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, a friend helped me set up and I don't remember the steps exactly.
On the command line you type in ftp://followed by the name of the site you want to ftp to. At some point you get a screen that asks for all the id information that lets you in. You tell the computer to save that information, and in the future, Explorer plugs it in for you.
Like I said, I don't remember exactly. Why don't you just type in ftp://and your destination and see what happens.
Someone reading this knows how to do it and will fill in the blanks for us.
Hope you are enjoying Washington state. Vic G

Hi...I downloaded the 30 day Cute ftp program...
OK, I've entered about every combination of info i can think of and I still can't login...
I wish I had written all that info down before i disconnected at home...
my web site is hosted by earthlink...my isp settings for my email and internet are sbcglobal.net
I think I am unclear on the concept.....
It asks for three things: My FTP host address (not sure what that is) My FTP site user name (would that be the same user name I use to get my email from a remote site on the internet i.e. : mail2web.com?) and my password..same as above.

Si, we went to a party tonight..I talked to a guy who is into web hosting, he also told me that if my web site is hosted by Earthlink, that's where I need to get the info...so, yup, I'm going there next...lucky for me my daughter's friends all work at earthlink.
