Got 11 in the mail today -- Amazed me ... was shipped tuesday from Texas, it takes that long to get a letter here from St. John's..

From what I've heard from beta testers this one is supposed to be bug free, I may not have to wait for the first or second service pack before putting it in the shop ... Forcast this weekend looks rainy ... good time to play with a new package.. I'll post first impressions early next week..

I ordered my upgrade on Monday, amazon.com has the upgrade for $199, with a $50 rebate....that makes it $149...and they also throw in a FREE Wacom Graphire tablet....and free shipping too!

[Frown] bummer, since it is a Canadian product!

Just had a thought... and since this is a rare occurrence I thought I'd better write it down... I wonder if any of you wonderful, fantastic, brilliant American neighbors close to the Canadian border would be willing to receive CorelDraw 11 for me and ship it to me since amazon won't ship it to Canada? Obviously I would pay you for all expenses incurred... actually, you could send it on our courier account. Just a thought.

Brian

I've read a couple of beta reports that Corel 11 is bug free. In computerese, I think that means Corel does not charge extra for the bugs. They are included with the package at no extra charge...except for the inconvenience.

So far so good ... not a lot of differences with the GUI, everything is where you expect to find it, packaging and opening graphics look starkly plain (no Heddy Lamar) ... I do see some improvements in preparing web documents. A few new drawing tools (3 point graphics - nothing really new- just quicker to use) callout shapes tool, a streamlined way of using and creating symbols), new pen & polyline tool, new shaping tools, new trimming options. Contour works much better than 9. You can also convert paragraph text to curves. Trace has added a few presets, and a sketch trace style. A welcomed redeye filter in paint, along with a bevel effect tool.

It seems (knock on wood) rock solid, I haven't got it to freeze or glitch yet, so I'll be testing it at the shop. It'll take a while to find all whats new but my first impression is positive..
