I have a customer that is opened a bait and tackel on the lake but wants a look of a Louisiana fish camp. there are looking for a complete logo package and all the signs.

not haveing been or seen what he is refering to, im looking for help in this area and if any one had any pictures or what kind of style this might be. im thinking and crackled sign, maybe a destressed pine board sign with rope or the like. Maybe even a carved bass...kind of like a trophy fish on a placque. Im mean should this look primative or with curly cues and outlined panels.

What ever i deside should also transfer to his advertisement, business cards...ect.

maybe if some one has a link that might help...kind of stumped on this one.

Chris, There are a lot of camp styles some are built on pilings and other build on a high ridge usuall made of shells. These is just around Crown Point the best of both types should be shown. Looks like you better get over here to get a better idea if needed.

Chris, I have dug through a box of photos to give you an idea and have come up empty handed. I am busy right now but will check again tonight.

For an original "camp" look, I can tell you as a former river rat that most camps have hand routed primative looking signs. Most are made from pecky cypress with that jagged edge look.

If your customer wants something pictoral, I would go with cypress tree and knees, which I'm sure you are familiar with being in Florida! You could also add a silhouette of an old man in a pirogue or bateau. Perhaps a swamp sunset with the silhouettes. Other considerations, nutria, alligator, crawfish, choupique, night heron, lots of spanish moss.

Most typical cajun camps are on pilings over the water with tin roof, cypress vertical 1x12's for siding and a front porch and deck are a must.

If I find a good pic I will E it to ya. Good luck.

Hey Chris,
Two of my uncles have cabins on the Styx River(not the one from Greek mythology). It's a tributary of the Apalachicola River in the national forest. There's also a place in that swamp called "Tate's Hell" so you might imagine why they named it "Styx". Anyway, it ain't too far from where you live. Maybe we could get together and do some fishin' sometime.

My uncles' shacks are made of rough-cut lumber but some of the places are old travel trailers, old schoolbuses, and tarpaper shacks. That's all I can relate for ya.
