I've met hundreds of wonderful folks at Letterhead meets over the years, and Chris has to be one of the best of the bunch! Ya can't help but grin when ya see him show up at a meet.
(I'd hint for a pair of those shoots too, but I'm guessin they don't come in my size.)
By the way, for the curious, the term "shoots" was coined by Alton Gillespie when he first laid eyes on Chris' infamous footwear. A cross between tennis shoes and cowboy boots.

I know I already posted on this thread, but was just readin CJ's post...and thought, if ya had to describe Chris with just one word, it would be "genuine".

We had just pulled into Mark Fair's driveway before his Dixie Letterheads meet and the first person I ran into in the parking lot was Chris. I knew instinctively that it was gonna be a good meet. Now where can we get some "shoots"? They're beyond cool.

sonny, cj and don.
you guys know good folks when you see them. (must be because you guys are damn good folks!)
chris sent them "shoots" to me, paid the freight, when i asked "how much brother"? chris says, "don't worry about it"
i told him i would send him a cool antique sign that i would make from scratch. (hey chris, i started it today buddy and it is gonna be taylor made for you bubba.)
i will treasure these shoots the rest of my life. (they kinda draw the attention away from mistakes i make on guitar! heehee)

i had to add this song by iris dement...
"My Life"
My life, it don't count for nothin' When I look at this world, I feel small My life, it's only a season A passing September that no one will recall
Chorus: But I gave joy to my mother I made my lover smile And I can give comfort to my friends when they are hurting I can make it seem better for a while
My life, it's half the way travelled And still I have not found my way out of this night My life, it's tangled in wishes and so many things that just never turned out right

Cool foot wear for a cool dude Looks like your band is taking off. Congrats on openeing for D.A.C. Does he still draw a big biker crowd? His "Rides Again" album is one of my all time fav's.

Hey Mark, glad that worked out!! And congratulations, you & the rest of the guys on this thread just made an old guy blush
Tony Lama has discontinued these but I'm currently looking for a supplier so be watchin' for the original Texas Shoots to hit the market!! (I realize these'll never be a mass-production item but hey, a guy's gotta build what a guy's gotta build) And Don, yes, we'll even have "bigfoot" sizes!
