I just figured out a way to create convex, or maybe prismatic is the correct term, letters in Omega that is a lot easier than the way I was doing it. Some of you probably do this already but its new to me so I thought I'd share it. I use the slice and dice tool and just go ahead and cut all the way through the letter creating bevels where I need them. Its going to put lines where I don't want them too because the tool will only cut all the way across the shape. Then I just weld (contour) the parts back together where I get extra cuts. On the curved parts I copy and paste back the part, then cut out the part I don't want by deleting points and adjusting the bezier curves as needed. Then add gradients for Edge printing. This is easier for me than using the pen tool and drawing the seperate parts. I just realized this would have to be modified slightly for vinyl cutting so you have layers of vinyl instead pieces butted against each other. I took most of the last couple of weeks off but I can't seem to stay completely away from work unless I get out of town.
