Just wanted to plug Don Coplen on his subcontracting design business.

I just had a hand painted design converted to digital for edge printing, I will just say he was awesome. Quick turnaround, top notch skills and great communication.

let me tell ya if you need to get caught up on those designs getting backed up, send him don's way. you wont be sorry !!!

While I am hand painting 4 logos he converted this design to a photoshop file so I can edge print the logo for my customers heavy equipment. the painted ones go on the trucks.

Thanks Don!

[Smile]

Your welcome, Bob...and thanx for the plug! I guess now I gotta pay the merchant fee here. [Confused]

It might be cool if we could show the photo you gave me to work from and the finished photoshop art. Very cool design!

Maybe one of these projects, I'll take some screenshots along the way and do a step by step for the site.

(I'm thinkin seriously about doing a step by step on how to vector draw a thumb. hahahaha)

I have to add a personal reccomendation also! I have had Don do subcontract design work for me and he is AWSOME!!!

Anyone who needs a quick turnaround and a very professional result.... Give Don a call or e-mail...He can do whatever you want, in either vector or raster format!

By the way Don..Don't bother vectorising the "thumbs up" I already did Jeffery's hand in that position. Took me all of 5 minutes, plus another minute to add fingernails! [Smile]

Anyone who wants a copy of Jeff's hand in vector can e-mail me! LOL

I've wanted to post pics for awhile. Think I've finally figured the thing out. (doubt it, but we'll see in a minute [Confused] )

The project for Bob was to work from a photo of a truck door that he'd painted...

 -

...and recreate the same thing, as closely as possible, in photoshop. So that he could Edge print the logo.

 -

I think the hardest part was getting that stone texture on the border.

--->edited part...

Geesh, worked first try! I got a new toy!!! hahahaa

By the way, the finished photoshop file has a 1/8" bleed all around and included a cut line. I erased the bleed for the post.

The cool design is Bob's. Nice look, and fun to work on.

I love that typestyle. Is it hand done? or is there a computer version out there?

Looks really nice Don( and Bob),proof that a computer can achieve hand painted quality, depending upon who's behind the keyboard. I wouldn't wanna try and determine which looks better. I guess on repeat jobs there would be no question which route to go.

You'd have to ask Bob Rochon about the typestyle. I just drew what was already there in the photo.

Cheryl, the program may be his, but the thumb is now [Cool] mine! Ha ha Don. I pirated it, stole it, all your hard work is now saved on my hard drive. I'm a clipart thief!

Seriously Don, you could make a few clipart CD's utilizing different areas. For instance, around here it would be nice to have clipart of crawfish insted of "lobstas" offshore rigs, pirogues, cane fields, rice fields, nutria, choupique, not to mention food items. I'm certain there are so many needed cuttable clipart items in other areas.

I'm gonna start being real nice to ya man you could be richer than Mr.Bill!
