I have been requested to design and make one of these. What I thought would be simple is suddenly way out of my realm of things I am capable of right now. They need this sign before Aug. 18. If you know of a source that I can have them contact, please let me know.
Thanks so much!

Amy, Here is a glass door that was featured at the Ole Bull & Brush Meet. Pub art was the theme of this meet. Maybe some others have pictures from this meet that may help you.
I e-mailed it to just in case you see that infamous white square with a red X.

oops........sorry, I thought you ask if anyone had seen Old Paint in an English Style Pub. I figured there'd be tons of replies. hehehe. sorry Amy I don't, but I'm sure from the looks of your other work, you'll do just fine if you put your mind to it.

I have a book here, by Eric R Delderfield, British Inn Signs, there is another By Stanley Chew, that you might be able to find thru Strand Books or Powells books, the former is out of print, but you might find it used, the latter is available still, they are both pictorial, the first is ISBN O 7153 4022 0
Otherwise search Brithish Pubs on the net that often turns up a few links etc.

Check your local Library to see what they really look like - the really nice ones have pictorial art done in artist's oil paints. Beyond my capabilities, too. Time frame seems a little tight by now, too, considering getting it negotiated, designed, approved, done, dry, and back to you long distance. Is it supposed to look old & original? Then No Vinyl! One side or two? Etc., etc., etc.

I did a google search for "pub signs" ... spent the last hour of Sunday morning coffee time looking at some really nice stuff. The common thing I found was nice big pictorials with minimal lettering. A couple of the good ones (sites) I found (eye candy)
Mark, I looked around the net and noticed the same thing, not much wording. The customer keeps saying Old English Style Pub Sign but the want a lot of wording on it. So I just can't figure it out. I sent two sketches and hopefully tomorrow morning I will know more!
