Unfortunately, I get so much spam either from or relayed through Yahoo.com that I'm considering setting my mail server to block the domain entirely.

The big domains - Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail - are doing a P*ss poor job controlling spam and they DO have the power and resources to do something about the problem.

I've been using a backup email account from yahoo.com for about 6 months. I've never once gotten any spam. I would venture to say that your spam resulted from accidently using your email address on the wrong website. I know if you ever sign up for IWON, your screwed. There are all kinds of websites that will sell your email address and it will only get worse.

I use Google for searches cause it to me is the best and most accurate. Yahoo seems to me to be too, how shall I put it...Wal-Mart like. Too diversified and covering too many bases, thus making them less effective than a place that does just one thing. If I want to find something, thats all I want. I have heard that if you use them for any type of free service, they will sell your info ASAP because they aren't doing as well as they used to. [Cool]

Yahoo is a pretty good directory ( probably the best) and they use Google as their search engine. Google is by far my favorite search engine, especially with it's image search option. I've never had any problem with spam from yahoo, although I've blown it in the past and used my email address to register for a free download and been hosed with email. The WORST is when people submit your email for you via free post cards, joke forwarding etc.. That's one of the largest sources for junk mail I've seen.
