I'm looking for a source for indellible pencils, but am told that the environazies have made them against the law also. I opened my mouth and made a commitment to repaint a couple of signs for a shirtail relative. I don't want to make patterns and all that stuff. Is there anything else that will work under a fresh application of oilbase bulletin background and bleed through? I need it bad. Thanks

Mike, you might also try using a lead pencil made by Sanford® - Desidn Ebony, jet black. This a is a very soft drawing pencil found in most art supply stores. Press hard to lay down the graphite.
I have not tried Sharpie's, but that sounds like a good idea. I wonder just what was in a simple pencil to completly remove it from the market anyway. Nothin' like the good old maroon indelable pencils. Curt Stenz

The old indelibles, I was told as a child had a lot of poisinous material in them. My grandmother would not let me use them until I got older and agreed not to stick them in my mouth. I haven't seen them in years. I do believe the Sharpies will bleed thru a light color. Sampling several things might be the ticket.
