I'd like to say thanks to all who recommended the Xcalibur swords for doing curves. I've only been striping for a couple months, but WOW. What a difference when I used the Xcalibur. It was much easier to use than the Mack 00. Of course, I know there is nothing bad about a Mack, but for a beginner like me, the Xcalibur is the way to go. The shorter hairs make it much easier to use. I'm gonna try trimming about an 1/8 inch of the bottom to see if it helps me do better circles.
Once again, thanks a bunch, especially to Letterville. Without this site, I'd be in the dark.

Mike, thanks for the kind words about our "Xcaliber" brushes. As far as trimming them, I would be VERY cautious. I only trim mine at the very tip of the brush(less than an 1/8")to start the stripe a little more square(only if there's a hair or two sticking out). When trying to stripe a circle, lift the brush up off the surface so that the tip is all that you're using. good luck & keep practicing.

I've got to add how surprized I was when I added an Excalibur to my brush arsenal. I opted for the 000 for the thin lines and curves. The brush makes the difference!!!! I WILL NOT CIRCUMCISE MY BRUSHS!!! I WILL NOT CIRCUMCISE MY BRUSHS!!! I WILL NOT CIRCUMCISE MY BRUSHS!!! I WILL NOT CIRCUMCISE MY BRUSHS!!! I WILL NOT CIRCUMCISE MY BRUSHS!!!
