Here is a graphic I designed for a customer the other day using seveal photos and other elements to design a themed full color digital sign for his office wall.

what do you guys think? Does the speed boat look too pasted on? Is the scale confusing?

Thanks,
Barry

Hey I think its a great start. My only suggestions would be...

Try a little more shading underneath that boat. It does wonders for making the image real. The boat looks real blurry but that could just be the jpg?

The main text does not seem to "pop" enough, I would try a darker thin outline around the contour.

The transition is not bad between the images but you may try to use panels instead of the softer effect since the scale is such a huge difference.

Just some quick thoughts, I do quite a few projects like this, yours is looking pretty good. How big is going to be?

barry this stuff is fun to play with
i agree that you have made a great start

your post prompted me to find a file i made way back (97)
i had 4 photo's from a customer that he wanted included in his 12'x4' airbrushed sign
2 of which were black n white

this artwork was only for referance and of course a transparency so that i could paint the thing but i remembered how much fun it was learning how to stick it all together so that he could see what i had in my head

photographers are not the easiest folk to work for cause they want control over everything... like the font that is used here, not my first choice ... but ya get that

i found the transparency tool in corel way usefull for the gental overlaps between shots and really quick to use

since this early one i have learnt heaps about photo editing but your post reminded me about the begining of that journey

cheers
gail
