Dave, thanks for the nice pics. Super job! Is the little guy on the far right with the big head Draper the Signmaker?

Also, would you please tell us again where this wall is, and for the car buffs, identify the car on the far right? Thanks.

yep, that's Draper. He "had a ballgame" that evening, so I did a little "digital magic" to get him in the photo anyhow. OOOOPS, used the wrong picture, oh well! hahahahahaha. The town is Atlanta IL. On the map it is about an inch north of Lincoln, or an inch south of Bloomington, right smack dab in the middle of the state. As for the car, I'll find out.

Hey Vic...

My guess would be a Lincoln Zephyr... but what do I know? The others look like a early 40's Ford, 1968 Chevelle, and a 48-54 Chevrolet sedan...

Have a great one!

Thnaks for the info, Dave. Lycos says 245 miles from Wheaton to Atlanta. I was thinking about driving down from Chicago while I'm there later this month, but 245 miles may be a bit of a stretch.

Also, if you or Dave will send me your best hi-res file of the group pic, I will enlarge and print you out a couple on the big inkjet. Take your time, I'll be on the road about a month. Vic G

thanks vic, we got the same shot using Steve Estes camera. He has a 3.3 megapixel job and mine is only a one megapixel. Steve if you are listening, I'd like to have a copy of that if you could email me one, and send one to vic! The only problem is, Draper wouldn't be in Steve's. hehehe

Wow! What is the size of that mural sign? Great job and compliments to all those who knocked that baby out. I can see that was a job!

Thanks for sharing this meet with those of us who couldn't make it Dave. I see from the posts above that at least one new Letterhead was attending their first meet.

Don't know about you, but I love to hear about meets thru the eyes and words of someone experiencing their first meet. I'm interested to learn if there was anyone special that Lora met. What and/or who made the biggest impression on you? Did you learn something new? And when will we see you at another meet? How about Mars?

I e-mailed the car question to a friend of mine who knows cars like know one I've ever known this is what he wrote;

Left to right I see about a '46 Dodge, '69 Chevy Chevelle, '54 Chevy and the
mystery car ...the grill is awash in glare and the back window is out of
focus. The bumper, location of the headlights and fender shape look like '39
or '40 Ford. Those cars have a divider strip down the middle of two back
windows that's in a blur if it's there.
Something like this.
http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/99/twin/twin002.jpg
That glare wipes out the detail though, so it could be something obsure, but
I doubt it.

He's almost certainly right, always is.

Actually this is JANE...but I don't know how to log in under the right name.
I talked to Bill Thomas, the town host, when we were at that meet and that car that you are talking about on the far right is his and it is a Plymouth. He could probably tell you more about it.
ALSO, Bill & I want to add our thanks to all the letterheads who showed up for the meet and all the towns people who were so wonderful and supportive. We really enjoyed meeting the people who were at the FIRST letterhead meet and visiting old friends who we've meet over the years. We had a great time too. THANKS to you all!
