Hey, I was wondering if anyone that got the letter from Ken at Oracal got their replacement vinyl? I got 9 15inch 50 yard rolls and 1 24 inch 50 yard roll. I just want to Send a Great THANK YOU VERY MUCH to Oracal for this. That is the way to do business! They replaced every bad roll that we had. It also weeds like a dream too. I am glad they have the problem solved... I have race cars awaiting! 651 is great vinyl for race car lettering - They get destroyed every week and you don't need to worry about them lasting for 4 years.

Go Oracal! I'm thrilled to see another company that is passionate about customer service. You can believe I'll remember this when I'm talking to people on a trade show floor.

That is one of the main reasons I use Oracal is because of race cars. I routinly run into rivets and crazy spots on race cars and I can put a little heat to it and it'll form sortta like cast vinyl. I don't use it on street cars though, I still stick with cast Avery. I have heard from a few folks that they use ORACAL 651 on some of the big name NASCAR cars but I don't know if that is true or not.

I did a couple of dry-cleaners vans with Oracal 651 'bout 3 yrs. ago & they still look fresh as of a couple weeks ago - brown, yellow & black - sorry, just can't find anything bad to say about the product. Did some fine-line pinstripe designs in white on my car windows last spring & they still look good - what "Sign God " proclaimed that vinyl graphics NEED to last 7 years - most people don't keep a car or truck that long, anyway. I regularly do Contractors/Plumbers/Electricians vans & trucks with 651 - they usually trade them in or wear them out in 2-3 yrs. - so, what's the problem? Maybe some guilty consciences here from those who have wasted money on Premium vinyl films & wished they had used Oracal? Not trying to be a smart-ass here; I just feel Oracal is getting a bad rap.

Was That Intended toward me? I wasn't knocking oracal! I am the one buying oracal. over 50% of our stock is oracal. I use other vinyls too. I use 3m, avery and Oracal. I haven't had any complaints about Oracal until the "wetting issue" came up. Kenneth Scott

The problem with ORACAL must have been limited to a very small lot and maybe to a specific limited set of distributors. I don't know the whole scoop but a lot of people didn't have problems BUT some did AND ORACAL took care of the problem. So kudos to ORACAL and as long as I get the same decent product that I used to get, I will continue to ues it. I really myself only had several rolls to do it BUT it does cost you time and a LOT of it and when you are a one man operation, that is more valuable than money.
