I just uploaded my new website on one of those free servers. I created all the buttons and stuff all while trying to keep the file sizes down. I would like some feedback on load time etc. I still have more pics to include. I've been working on a stripped down version without the custom buttons to make it load faster, might have to resort to that one. Anyway, check it out.

It loaded pretty quick for me. Then again, I'm on cable. The only suggestions I can make is to make the buttons smaller. It might help to make them about a third smaller.

No comment..except you might want to think about using a host that doesn't provide "pop-ups from hell".
As soon as I went to your site I started getting pop-ups. NOT what folks want.

well, I don't care for pop-ups either, but for a free hosting that must be your price. I likes your photos. Load time was fine with dsl. I agree the buttons could be smaller. I'm on 600 x 800 res. & they were huge. I checked out logos, graphics, & signs. I think you could have more pics. Especially on signs. Also I like the Avant Garde on the buttons, but when you go to the link & the heading is in another steel tube style button, I think you should stick with the same font, although you could keep the neon outline glow. Just my opinion, since the 2 buttons look so similar & you can still see them side by side.
One last suggestion. I'm no grammer wiz, but I think you would want to change this sentence:
quote: Let us show you how well we can make your business look with a custom designed logo package.
unless you meant to say how "swell" we can make... maybe say how "professional"...

With Doug here. Even though most of us are set on tighter resolution for workspace reasons, the average user is going to be set on 600x800. I'm viewing from my wife's computer on those settings, and have to scroll to see anything.

20 Meg Limit Exceeded! That's no good. You might want check out Dixiesys or Cyberwings. Both have dirt cheap hosting and have been pretty reliable for me. Dixiesys has better uptime and has been around longer, but who can resist $5-10/year at cyberwings?

Yeah you have already had too many visitors. Your gonna have to do something. Also even though I didn't get to see your site just that banner I did get an annoying HUGE pop up ad, thats NO GOOD! I've been using Bigstep.com to host a store but if you don't want to sell anything or set up a store, they are probably not a good choice

Thanks for the replies. Yea I put the site up at Bravenet just to see how it would work (and to get the bugs out), they have a $7.00 a month deal with no banners or pop ups, I may try that. If you guys have any advice on other hosts I'd like to hear about it.
Also, do you think that some hosts are faster than others? I have been looking into setting up an old computer to host myself, but wonder how fast it would be (I'm on a cable modem)
Thanks, Tony B
