I'm making the transition from Inspire to Flexi. Well, trying anyway. How do I get rid of that annoying "page" on the layout screen? It's the page with the drop shadow that looks like the one in illustrator, but has nothing to do with the sign you're trying to layout. Thanks in advance for any replies. D

Could you just make it (the "page") a lot larger than the sign you're working on? I use Casmate Pro, and I've often wondered how Flexi people deal with that annoyance.

Danny The page will always be there, however in design central you can make it any size that you want to and save it and use it over and over. When I am doing vehicle for instance I use a screen "page" size of 325 X 225 for instance. This is one of the things in Flexi once you get used to it will just seem like old hat. You can save these sizes and remove what you don't want whenever you want to however. I happen tolike it and keep my default set at 24 X 36" and am used to sizing it for each job as I am doing it.

I always just set it at the size of the sign or a little larger. It is really helpful when using the zoom toolbar you can always just hit zoom to page and you have you whole sign there filling the screen. Only time I hate it is when I am printing something it is right there getting printed too. I usually have a bunch of extra stuff up when I am designing also, so I just drag it all of to the side and when you zoom to page, it is out of the way until you need it.

use flexi awhile you see it has some real advantages like already said the page size can be what ever you want and can help in laying out perticular size signs. I have been using flexi for 10 years it is all "old Hat " now. let me know if you run into some other flexiosycroces I'll be glad to help.

I have done the same upgrade, so i have two sign design programs. personally, I like inspire 6.1, but flexi-sign design writing text on path is much better than inspire. just some thoght.

The transition to Flexi from Casmate is far more difficult than learning to drive on the left side of the street!
I'm asking for a list of Casmate interface and features that are on the soon to be released ver.7, but so far have not received anything comprehensive.
The hassle of needing to select a sign size to open the screen is another blunder I feel, creating just another step that was previously not needed.
I think that currently you need to set up many sizes that you use on a regular basis and select the appropriate one as you have need. I like drawing my sign and re sizing it after I get it looking how I want it to look. I enjoy approaching it more like I would if I were drawing it on a napkin in the espresso shop.
