Hi heads, was playin' around with Corel Rave tonight and did my first animation. It's kinda stupid but it was fun to do. Anybody else on here messin' with this stuff. I love it! can't wait to do some more! http://www.casscomm.com/~utter/ladybug.swf to see it. It's flash so you'll need shockwave etc. Lets see your's!

took maybe an hour......and at this point I have no idea how to add sound or nuttin'. just havin' fun! If ya got Rave ya otta' try it. It's actually very simple. You can draw anything in it just the same as in Draw, then copy and paste it to the next frame, and so on.

I just viewed your "ladybug swf". Looks like you found a program worth learning. I'd like to try it if I could. Do you know what the system requirements are? I'm still using w95 & see that Rave is part of C10 sweet. Do you know if its available as stand-alone? (& will it work on my system?)
I've recently been experimenting with other flashlike program demos; Koolmoves, Swish & Flash (which just expired b4 I could figure it out). Of the 3, Koolmoves was the easiest to use but looks too simple in what it can do. Although its supposed to import eps files, I haven't got it to work with either Corel or Illustrator. It does have the ability to set an infinite # of tweeners. A command I've yet to find on Swish. Swish looks just like Flash but its supposed to be easier to use. Yea we'll see. I'm not giving up yet.
I didn't know about Rave. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

hi bill, I don't know what the system req's are. I'm running a 1.6 gig AMD, 256 megs of pc 2700 ram, and windows xp. I'll look and see if i can find the req's. I also don't know if rave is available seperately or not. you could probably find that out at their web site. www.corel.com The thing I do like about rave is that it is basically identical to Draw as far as the tools that you actually draw with. there is a long string of boxes across the bottom which you click to get to the frame you want. It will export to FLASH and AVI which is cool. You can include sound but i haven't gotten that deep yet. One thing I don't like (and maybe I'm just missing it) I don't think you can insert a frame. which means, if you left something out you have to go and change every frame behind it. The lady bug started out just as a simple copy, paste, copy, paste blah blah blah to make it walk across the screen. But, by the time I got to the middle I was bored, so I decided to kill it. Literally! Just playin around. The whole thing is like 180 frames or so and took about an hour to do. I would like to try something way more complex, and a longer "film" just to se how far I can push this puppy! Since I'm used to the stuff in corel, it really is easy for me. later, man.
