Hello,
My old source for 18" x 24" x 1/4" white painted Masonite panels has dried up. Does anyone else know of a source for them? I need about three dozen panels.

Thanks,
Mike Jackson

Mike, we used to get ours from Product Sign Supply in either Sacramento or San Jose

San Jose phone is (408) 294-5823

At 26 plus the catalog says $4.85 each for 1/4 enamel enamel at 18x24

Let us know if you find something better out this way. Vic G

Hi Joe,
Around here Abiti Shower Board costs a little over $20 for a sheet. It is only about 1/8" thick, and finished only on one side. It is great for quick or temporary interior signs, but would need painting and sealing on the edges and back. Additionally, we haven't had good luck with paint sticking to it for very long. The finish is too slick for the paint, but vinyl works fine. Since the panels go in 18 x 24" real estate frames to be used as jump numbers and sponsors for a steeple chase, it is easier for me to just buy the prefinished and precut panels. The cost isn't an issue, because the client pays for them.

Thanks for the note,
Mike Jackson

Hey old paint I use the same stuff for most of my artwork. It's cheap around here and the lumber yard in walking distance, and they cut it for free! I hope they don't change there mind.Hi Mike [Eek!]

Hey Mike,
I like the idea of those panels- sounds much nicer for certain jobs than the marlite I usually use.
I use it for "dry-erase" type signs for a big factory near Pittsburgh. Just clean it real good, apply vinyl, & wax it with Pledge! It goes against a wall, so the back is not seen.

You might try a light scuff with 600 grit on the shower stall material before lettering, also prime the backside for endurance outside.

But most of the time this it's just good for temporary signage.

1/4" holds up much longer.

Have a Great Day Mike
