I usually use Goo Gone to remove old adhesive...which it does a decent job of doing.

But I received my samples from Roger the other day...and I tested out his Rapid Remover on an old boat that had stripes removed....The Rapid Remover disolved the adhesive with MINIMAL effort. Now this adhesive wasn't what I'd call "crusted on" and it was little specks here and there....so I need to do more testing alongside Goo Gone on a really tough job. But my initial impression was "Wow" this stuff works well!

I gotta wonder...are you having this solution delivered by aliens from Mars Roger? Cause it seems to work like it's "outa this world". [Big Grin]

I made the mistake of taking a little "sniff" of the stuff...and I thought I was gonna pass out. But I did notice that unlike Goo Gone....you can wash your hands and not have a residual smell left over.

What else is this stuff good for? Anybody have similar stories?

Way to go Roger!

Rapid remover is the ONLY one i have left in my place..
Last spring i had a trucker come in with his truck all gouged up. He tried to remove soem decals himself. left all kinds of adhesive on it. Real pretty truck gouged up from his amature work. Luck i was able to make a new design to covor up al lhis handy work.

Hood, both doors and sleeper. He saw me spray on the magic juice and nearly had a heart attack he was so angry. The old adhesive nearly dripped off. Then he really got mad when he realized i was serious when i said i was charging him $70 bux to clean up his mess. He said, "you aint even goona sweat". Man what a cuzzin lesson i got. tought me soem new words...
Then to top it off he wanted my sample spray bottle of this Rapid Prep magic juice. I said it was only $19.95 for a 1/2 full used sample bottle. That made him happy...

Curtis:
Your old trucker reminds me of a story I heard once to illustrate a tradesman's knowledge:

A couple are home one weekend when their fridge conks out. They call a repairman, and this guy walks in, takes a look at the fridge, and goes back out to his truck. He promptly returns with a rubber mallet, and takes up a position on the side of the fridge, looks at it for a second, and gives it a sharp rap. The fridge immediately kicks in. The husband and wife are amazed.

A few days later they get a bill-

COst to repair fridge= $150.

They freak, and call the repairman, demanding a breakdown on repairing the fridge when it seemed so simple. He says "no problem, let me send you an itemized bill". It arrives the next day.

Labour and materials- $1
knowing exactly where
to hit the fridge - $149

I'm glad you weren't scared to charge for what's in your head as much as what's in your toolbox!!

I just love seeing some of the ways the general public will try to remove a decal. Had one guy who had eaten all of the paint off of his truck doors where a decal was. He had about 10 different types of thinners and stuff there at it when I got there. I saw guys try to use Purple Power. Saw them try to wet sand the glue off. What a bunch o' messes.

i had to remove reflective stripes &
letters from a police car the other day.
they had tried 1 letter and decided it
was too hard. wanted to know how many
days i would need to keep the car & i
told them they could pick it up about
5 pm that day.
they left and i got my wallpaper scraper
and went at it then took the rapid remover
and was through with it in 2 hours.
called them about 5 and told them i was
through.
gave them a bill for $200.00
they were happy
