I can’t tell you how I struggle with PC related stuff, it does not come naturally to me, and I have a minor mental block about learning most anything new on a computer. I have a hard time remembering the things I learn and if I don’t do it again really soon, I’m back to square one not knowing how it worked.
Though it is my first Sign Software, and I can make it gargle peanut butter, I had to give up on using Casmate exclusively when I got my Edge.
I was told SignLab could run the Edge in a basic way, and that the improvements for more advanced capabilities were in the works.

So I got SignLab, and I struggled, working with the manual late at night. But I just did not progress much in learning it, especially the node editing and the plotting, and surely missed the fine points that make it so special. Instead I became adept at converting and importing and copying and pasting and wasting time working between the two programs.

Then came the Rob Ivers PC disc video on how SignLab e6 works from A to Z. I spent quite a few hours on my vacation a little while ago going through the whole thing, popped it into my laptop, and with earphones listened to him explain things to me. In a clear and simple way – not staged or theatrical, he just plainly showed the way to make this thing work. I could not wait to get home to get started using SignLab exclusively.

The difference in what I can do now, and how great a program it really is , astonishes me every day.
If I run into a problem – the typical one of having forgotten how to do something – I step over to my laptop where the disc now lives. I click on the problem area and a few minutes later I have the whole picture.

Fabulous.
I do not understand why this is not bundled in with the purchase of SignLab. It would certainly cut their support calls in at least half.
Rob: Thank you for a job, not an easy one, so very well done.

I’d like to echo Myra’s end results as well. Although I find SL e6 a more intuitive sign program then others, Rob’s CD offering accelerated my learning curve tremendously. I can’t speak for veteran users of SL, but for “newbies”, it’s a tremendous asset to have.
