Which scanner do 'yall have the best luck with. I am using a UMAX Astra 3200 and I want to get a newer scanner for my 2nd computer. I want a little cleaner scan than I am getting also. Any suggestions?

I still have the best scanner ever made....HP4c! I also havean HP7490.....it's AMAZING. It has built-in software that rivals anything I've ever used to "tweak" your scanned object!

The Epson Perfection scanners have been top rated for both image quality and speed. I have an HP 5370 C....my folks have the Epson. The Epson is nearly twice as fast at scanning and has remarkably nice output....My next scanner will be an Epson. The speed is just sooooo convenient.

I'm going to second the Epson Perfection series on speed. I have an Epson 1200U. It takes about 6 seconds for a preview scan. My Visioneer Paperport 6000 takes 45 seconds. Guess which one is hooked up and which one is gathering dust? The image scanning speed is much faster on the Epson also. The quality of the scans has been more than adequate. Scanning plenty of photos is no longer the interminable chore it used to be. I hear the newer Perfection series scanners are even faster.

We were leaning toward the Epsons but not leaving out a looksy at the HPs and as far as a Visioneer goes, they are TOYS. I got one played with it for a day and hated it so bad I gave it away as a Christmas present. The people I gave it to are old and didn't need anything any better.
