Just read your post on vectorizing, drawing etc in Omega. Continue using Illustrator to draw the basic layout of your signs, etc. Omega has the most HORRENDOUS drawing tools. I tried to work with them, but they are soooooo user unfriendly that you will likely smash something in your studio out of frustration trying to use them.
I always creat the basic layout with Illustrator (or CorelDraw) and then import it into Omega for adding fills, textures, outlines, dropshadows etc. Remember this though! You must save your illustrator files at Version 6 or lower...or you will not be able to import them properly into Omega.
Also....if you don't have it...take a look at a program called "Envelope Mesh" by Virtual Mirror. It is an Illustrator plug in that allows you to interactively creat "Warped or distorted" effects within Illustrator for your objects/text. It isn't as good as the Envelope function that comes with CorelDraw...but it's better than nothing. WWW.VIRTUALMIRROR.COM ??? I BELIEVE.
I still have to send you a couple Omega files with images in them so you can see how to do them...I haven't forgotten...just got kinda busy. Have a great day.

Thanks Todd, I'll check out the warping idea. On a recent Mac/Pc thread someone mentioned a mac program named "Typestyler". I used to use that all the time with illustrator files when I was on a mac. CasMate does all these warpings great but a plug-in would be better to stay put in one program more often
As for Omega, I do know enough to keep my sanity by doing my work in Illustrator (or CasMate) & importing thoses files has been a daily ritual for a year & a half now. I just figured due to my avoidance of "using" Omega any more then neccessary, that there may be a gem or 2 of usefullness buried in there somewhere.
One more minor point, in honor of fathers day yesterday I will correct you on the name Allan, another daily ritual for 43 years. Know what I mean CJ? If you're out there. I don't know if Si had something to do with it, but the world has seemed to favor his spelling.

Hey Todd, just checked out that vector studio 2 program. The wrinkle remover looks like a pretty cool alternative to the scan cleaning discussion, as shown by this .gif image I lifted off their site.
Do you use this feature? Is it any good? Does the trial download give me temporary, but full access to everything in the program?

Dangitall! Sorry about the mizzzpelling. I hate it when I do that.
The Wrinkle smoother? Man, that is a new one on me...it looks cool though...as I'm not too keen about the smooth tool in Illustrator.
I actually like the way CorelDraw allows you to select any or all nodes and click on a button called "auto reduce" and it minimizes the nodes while trying to retain the original shape...Corel has a lot more nice features included with the program....
I'm not sure about the download being fully functional...seems like it would be. Have a good one.
