Duckie and Duckette from the Duckpond in McCalla will be there. Staying at the only motel in Atlanta. You going to ride your BIKE up there Roy? Are they STILL going to call it "The FIRECRACKER walldog"? Or do I need to redo my panel
We are planning a neat little meet. It will be an introductory meet for a very large meet next year.
The Little village of Atlanta, Illinois is a town that time forgot. Historic Route 66 runs right down Main St. throght the center of town. The idea is to paint beautiful murals on all the old buildig walls and recreate window lettering and signs in period style for the busisiness owners.
The business owners are funding the costs of the meet, taking care of all the details so that there is much less stress of organizing a meet.
This year, we will have a small panel jam, a 60 foot by 5 foot wall to paint a sign on, one in which is historically corect from about the 1920's ( but we want to do it Lettherhead style) And there will be some demonstrations, tips and tricks stuff.
Even though it is a small meet, 4 of the organizers have been in the trade magazines, mostly in Sign Builder Illustrated Magazine.
You'll have a blast, and the food is free to the first 30 who register. I think we have about 10 registered so far.
See you there!
Did I mention this is a FREE meet? You just have to show up. You may need to find a room in Lincoln Illinois or Bloomington Illinois.
Atlanta is located on I-55 7 miles north of Lincoln Illinois and 25 miles south of Bloomington-Normal Illinois ( right in the middle of the state.
