have an ongoing small problem, when cutting from corel and doing lower case text, where the cutting starts and stops i usually have a tad not cut. ive played with the off set and on mine it goes from 0-40, and still no change. so today (we got rain, 1st in about a month)so i tried a little experiment. took a line of text all lower case, rounded serifs at 1 1/2" tall at the lower case "g" in the word giving,cuttin intermediate vinyl with a 60 degree blade at 110g, in corel no mater where i set offset, it dont help. opened a sign program and same line of text with off set at 15, no problem with weeding. so i looked at the nodes in it...sign program had 3-4 nodes per letter, corel has 10-15 same letter, so ill try next reduce node and convert to curves......

If you have this option ...try this, where your offset is adjusted, see if you have a selection for "heavy", "normal" and/or H-speed. I have a Roland CM-300 pro model plotter and I have these options. I have had my cutter for a couple of years and recently discovered that the "heavy" setting is for small text.Hmmmm, probably would have helped if I had read the manual thoroughly in the beginning (I think I have that male disorder of "dont read the manual unless you have trouble syndrome"). It vastly improved the cuts.
You may be on to something with the nodes also.
By the way I am cutting from Corel, thanks to you, Dave Grundy and some others sharing on this board. You guys be knowin' sumfin!

Joe...Maybe that bullet proof Corel 7 is getting tired??? Maybe the ole Roland PNC 1000 is getting tired??? Maybe yer getting tired??? LOL
Seriously, I have never had to adjust the offset and have no problems with uncut areas..unless there is drift on a 10 - 15 foot cut of a stripe, where the end of a continuous cut doesn't line up with start.

timi..reread...it only does it in corel.....cuttin from a sign program..its not a problem....
