I was curious if anyone here has ever tried to cut Sign Foam with a laser engraver? We have a 25 watt Epilog Summit. I figured it might, heck it engraves on granite and numerous other materials, and it cuts so many materials as well....so I am wonderin' if it would work.

I know you are not supposed to cut certin materials because they give off deadly fumes.

I did e mail Sign Foam, but have not heard back from them.

Thanks!

Heard of a guy who tried to weld a metal container that had styrofoam as a damping material, it blew up and blew him to pieces. I'd be careful until I found out if signfoam is flammable or not. I don't use it so I don't know personally.

I was told that burning or laser cutting signfoam causes a deadly gas to form. I don't remember the the details.

Burning urethane signfoam will release Toluene diicocyanate (bad stuff)!
