Has anyone else out there had a problem with the tracking on Summa cutters? I've got a D-60 24" cutter that tracks awesome only if I have the tracking wheels attached. If I have 10' of scrap vinyl off the roll, it will say, track the whole 10' but, on the way back to the origin, it tracks differently. I find myself "babysitting" the vinyl cutter so it doesn't fall off its pincher rollers. It's not off tracking majorly but it does off track. I have a Vinyl pro 52 at my employeres business that I am not entirely fond of but the tracking on it is superb.
Something's definitely off with your cutter. Please call our tech support at 800.323.9766.
Thanks,
Jim

I just recently purchased a Summa D-60, and it tracks perfectly. If I use a piece of scrap, I just make sure I line it up with the marks printed on the cutter. Never had a problem yet. Great Cutter for sure.

I had the same prob...This is what fixed mine. I noticed that my stand had become a little loose from loading and unloading rolls of heavy vinyl. Well the stand got shifted a little to the right. This made my plotter unlevel from the stand. This made the vinyl go in the machine crooked, Not enough for me to tell by looking at it cut. It was just enough to make the tracking bad. I aligned everything and it works perfect again. Hope this is your prob. Ken

I have noticed that after cutting punched vinyl, I get a slight buildup of adhesive on the pinch rollers.
I have a Mimaki, but when the rollers are clean, I can run a 50 yard roll throuh it without realigning. The first time I had this problem, I could not get 6 feet without runout.

If it only does it on a couple of rolls of vinyl and not all (didn't gather that info from your post), I have gotten a few smaller rolls (10yds.) that have been cut off kilter a little and if you lined up the edges it would go off of track, it was strange but I finally figured out how much each roll was off and compensated for it when I loaded it. It was weird watching it run through the machine because it wobbled on the edges but as far as cutting, it tracked straight. Guess my supplier had been drinking all day when they cut those rolls.
