Anyone ever do graphics on aircraft?
Been asked to letter and stripe an aircraft.
Are any "vehicle outline" images available for planes? Is there any other information I should know about.
Thanks
Wayne

You might give him a call or email to see what advice he has.

We used to cut vinyl for aircraft but the client always installed it.

I did some nose art on one of the old Sky King's Cesnas. I found out that there are NO flat surfaces on the fuselage. It is egg shaped. I made a large decal and like to have never got all the wrinkles out. If you have large areas to make graphics for, make a full size paper pattern first and try to fit it to the required area and take notes as to what adjustments have to be made.
One area I did have a problem with is that I used flat black vinyl for the shadows on the lettering and at high, cold altitudes, it ALL came off!!! This was vinyl from Gregory 15 years ago. I know that today, a lot of planes have vinyl graphics with no problems. Besides, I don't think the 172 goes that high or that fast.
Just my dos centavos here.

Wayne,
Never did full scale. I build and fly R/C aircraft. Below are some links that I've used. Hope they help.

Use High performance cast, Rapid TacII, cheap paper towells, and no worry !!

Actually we sell to the military, after showing the U.S. Airforce (by means of demonstration at airfield in Sacramento 1988) they were SOLD and amazed that we could apply they're vinyl(3-m)wet, and send it up to a freezing altitude a couple minutes later, and the vinyl stayed on and no bubbles etc. !!

Wayne,
I have tried e-mailing you a Cessna outline but your mailbox is over quota. Please advise of alternative e-mail address.

Thanks everyone,
John, Thanks very much for the paper pattern and vinyl advice.

Dave,WOW, thanks for all those links!

Roger, I have RapidTac and love it! I thought RapidTac2 was for intermediate vinyl??? It's OK to use it with cast vinyl too? Can I just use my RapidTac?

Nice Steve! Did you paint that? I will try to post it. It's fun doing all this different stuff ain't it?

Judy, I called my ISP tech support and they are working on the problem. You are the second person who has told me this. I will let you know. And thanks!
