Idea for a LH/WD/PH meet at the old speed shop here. What I have to work with is a 10000 sq ft shop, mostly full but moving around stuff for additional floor space for panel jammin' and indoor festivities. Two large walls, 18' x 100' for a large mural, with an idea af a racing pictoral, timeline style, of racing from the 40's to present. I've plenty of pics to work with and have a few vehicles to letter up on.... Also on saturday, a cruise in ( read cars to stipe on for fun or profit ) for the street rod bunch with a rockabilly or 50's band on saturday night. I'm trying to see with the city if we can block off the streets for that. I'm gonna pick my buddies Mark Fair, PKing & Jimmy Chatham for their expertise on their meets
Here's what I'm looking for...Ideas or input. Good, bad, ugly or indifferent.
Possible date September/ October of 2003.

Sounds like fun Sam,....It'd be fun to do a racin' mural like that, if nothing else just to look thru the old photo archives for the historical aspects of the sport,in order to do the design,...Keep us updated and let's get this thing goin',....

At this point I have “some” interest in attending your possible event. I “hope” to be attending the Killkenny meet next year and that will have a major influence on whether your event would be viable for me to attend or not. (Actual date and finical considerations ) Please keep us updated here in Letterville. Thanks!

Great to hear from everyone on attending. And thanks as well for the help offers!
What I'm looking for now instead of a head count is Ideas or Input on this. Thoughts on incorporating a cruise in for the street rod crowd to introduce them to what we do....potential problems? What I'm looking at there is the real rodders, fat fenders to jalopies, not the trailer them in or rice rocket crowd. Two "old" car clubs are already interested. .... But I also don't want to be too rigid and descriminate against the "honda kids" providing the "attitudes are checked at the door"
Would I be opening more of a can of worms than I need? City planners may go ahead with allowing a side street to be blocked but are unsure of a main avenue.
May need to get some Mike Meyer input on this as well
I don't want to form a committee to pull this off, and I'm trying to think it all through, to make sure all my bases are covered. Throw me something I may not be thinking about. I appreciate ANY suggestions.
