My family and I cannot put into words how blessed we are to have people that do not even know us send such heartful prayers and support our way for Christian. We are so appreciative.
Update as of Wed. morning:
Christians condition remains stable although there has been another round of brain swelling. Doctors now feel his condition warrants the placement of a shunt to relieve the pressure. This procedure could take place as early as tomorrow.
Every day we see litttle miracles taking place. Simple things like a smile in his sleep, a large yawn, even an occasional crying spell. Everything he has continued to do (taking a bottle, reacting to sounds, moving his limbs and head) continues to amaze his team of doctors. They continue to tell us that the parts of his brain that control these basic functions have long been completely destroyed based on the films and tests. So as you see we are being very blessed daily if only for a short while.
We're keeping our chins up and keeping faith that God has a plan for Christian. We're tired, mentally whipped and find strength in your words of encouragement.
This picture was taken last week just as Christian was going for yet another CAT Scan. Two hours later he suffered his devastating stroke.

I must have missed the original post on this. I have been out of town for my own grandson's surgery. Keaton's was a fairly routine surgery, and everything went well. It has been less than a week, and he is doing great.
Although it was a somewhat simple surgery, we were on pins and needles until they brought him back to us.
I can only imagine what you are going through.
Prayers, thoughts, and best wishes are on their way. Watch over the little guy, and post some pictures when he gets better.

Wasn't able to follow the progress yesterday, so I'm happy for you that Christian has made you and your family smile some. I think about your situation constantly and pray for the best for Christian. Stay strong!

Thanks you for the update,MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!! I know the what you are going through right now. last January (2001) our son was born 3.5 months early weighing in at 1 lb 13 oz. After many many prayers, the miracles started to come little by little. We did the "NICU two step", two forward then one backward. to make a long story short, after 11 weeks in the NICU we came home and now he is 16 months old and he has no problems what so ever. Also, If you have a RONALD McDONALD HOUSE near the hospital, use it. It is a Wonderful orgnization. We are all praying for Christian and all of your family.
To all of the readers in letterville, please make sure you drop your change in the little box the next time you eat at Mcdonalds. It helps many many people.

I have always wondered, Who am I to call on God for help? But it's times like these that I do. If my prayers can help, you can bet that they are being made. Ill also have my father put Christians name in the prayer box at church. Keep us informed and God Bless you and your family.
