I went to Home Depot yesterday and looked at the HVLP units. I bought the Campbell Hausfeld standard duty unit for $159.00. Today, I sprayed three aluminum panels that are 12' x 1' x 4". I am extremely impressed with this sprayer!!! It is much neater than the Wagner airless sprayer.
Contrary to what I have been told, there IS overspray. It is not atomized like the automotive sprayers that go all over the whole room. The over spray just falls to the floor. So, a good dropcloth would be in order. (I will paint the floor again soon anyway)
Just wanted to thank all those that gave me input. I strongly suggest that you guys that do a bit of coating out to invest in this little jewel. It cleans up just like the automotive sprayers. One drawback is the turbine pump makes the same amout of noise as a standard vacuum cleaner. Other than that,,,,, I highly recommend you budget for it and get one!!
Also on my hit list this week was the 12"x36" wood lathe I have wanted for like ever !!! Now, I can turn some nice round HDU plaques up to 48" in diameter. This lathe has the rotating head that allows large turnings off to the side of the main bed.
Okay, back to work here !!! [Wink]
