Hi everybody. I won't flatter myself by thinking folks are wondering where I've been, but in case yins were, I'm pretty friggin' busy! The Letterheads meet has taken on a life of its own. I'm still working hard, trying to make sure everybody has a good time and walks away having gotten something positive out of coming to Mars. I want this meet to be the family reunion of Letterheads. It will be like the Welsh family reunion, too. I have cousins and sisters helping, and if any Letterhead lovers wanna get hitched in Mars, my brother's a magistrate! Thanks to this BB for the Future Meets site, I've been getting quite a few downloaded registration forms- 6 today in fact! Woo Hoo! Suppliers have been donating stuff, lots of you are working on banners for the meet, and many good things are happening. A rough schedule so far is this- Thursday will be the start of the 4 murals, there will be seminars in the hex tent (not sex tent)all day, a barbershop quartet and a slide show at night. Civil War reenactors from my great-great grandpa's 101st PA regiment will camp out by the train station. I am lining up some Mountain Men too. The murals will continue Friday, as well as the seminars, and Friday night we have Karaoke and a band. A fish fry is tentatively set too. Saturday will start out with a pancake breakfast. By noon, there will be plenty of local food vendors selling stuff like pierogies, ribs, & halushki to the town folks who will come to see the sights. We will have a jumpy-ball thingy, a classic car cruise, kids' activities, bluegrass, rock-n-roll, and a parade. There will be an auction of the site banners, donated goods, and maybe a pinstriped toilet seat or two to benefit the Mars firefighters. Hopefully, the murals will be finishing up. The panel jam in the Foodland warehouse & the Vendor's area in the old elementary school will be open all day every day. I have also arranged for a shuttle bus to take folks to & from Mars to their respective motels. There will be two am runs- 7:45 & 8:30, and an 11:15 at night. I hope this will be helpful. Well, I think that's it for now...Remember, pre-register by tomorrow by emailing me at headsonmars@lycos.com or by calling me & you will still make the cut-off date for the rate increase. We've had a lot of responses lately, both from Heads old & new & vendors! Thanks & love to all- JILL

Geeez..If John can make it all the way from the frozen north...I guess there is no reason that I can't make it from the sunny south...Only a 5 hr drive from here.
Only thing is...fer the money that I'll end up spending..I can buy a brand new puter...We can spend about a week on an island in the Caribbean...I guess it is a question we will have to deal with...."priorities""!!!! LOL LOL
what to do???

I'm ba-ack! Thanks for the input- got a lotta check-ins on headsonmars. Billy Pickett suggests that anyone who wants to bring in slides of their work should do so. Just no nude shots of Old Paint tho, folks. Dave, you know as well as I that a Letterheads meet is way better than a cruise or even a computer- where else can you BS with a hundred or so of your best friends, learn a few new tricks, and hang out with some of the greatest talent on the planet? Hmmm? I know I'd rather do a meet than fight for deck space with a bunch of fogies & yuppies, and we're talking about REAL human beings here, not a plastic box that will be obsolete by next Christmas. John Jordan will be bringing a banner from Australia to be signed by those who choose- he sez it's made the rounds a time or two. Things are starting to heat up! Woo Hoo! Love- JILL

Jill,.....Jill? Shhhhhhhh.........Don't tell everyone........let's keep this a nice little meet where we get to bounce off of some of the most remarkable talent, gathered in one spot, to give, to teach, to learn about a trade that was "THE" beginning of civilization! Each of us brings our own skills, talents, and hopes to all of these meets,.........large and small, with the desire not only to keep the past alive.....but to keep the standards high! I celebrate those young folks to this industry who have an open mind and see the importance of studying the leaders that they choose to emulate (sp?)..... Current technology can only copy....but it is a tool of creation. Like any tool, it is only as good as the craftsman behind it. Study with the best craftsmen, and with your new "tools", ....strive to maintain, and if possible to advance those standards. Each of us here, is in a business to earn a living. Who can argue with that? Each of us has pride in what we do and we strive every day to be as good as, if not better than yesterday..... Join us in Mars if you feel the same way...won't be many putters on....but ya won't be able to download the experience any where else.....................;-) Joe, Makin Chips and Havin Fun!
