IF THERE ARE ANY OF YOU CASMATE & INSPIRE USERS LEFT OUT THERE, IT TURNS OUT THAT IF YOU'RE RUNNING THE LATEST P4 PROCESSOR (the earlier P4s are OK), YES, IT WILL RUN THESE 2 PROGRAMS, BUT THERE'S AN EXCELLENT CHANCE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PLOT OR RIP! IF THIS IS THE CASE, SEEING THAT WIN 98(ME & 2000 TOO) HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED, YOU'RE PROBABLY SMART TO KEEP YOUR P3 AND LOWER PROCESSORS, AND HANG ON TO WIN95. IT MIGHT JUST BE A LIFE-SAVING MOVE ON YOUR PART TO JUST RUN THE OLDER STUFF INTO THE GROUND UNTIL YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST MAKE THE CHANGE.....AT LEAST WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT WINDOWS EDITION AFTER THE CURRENT XP IS ANNOUNCED BEFORE YOU UPGRADE ALL YOUR STUFF TO XP.
ISN'T THE WORLD OF UPGRADING WONDERFUL!

ALL THIS MAY ALSO APPLY TO OTHER CUTTING AND PRINTING PROGRAMS OUT THERE! BE AWARE AND GET MAD!

Dadgum, rackin, frackin, sonofagun Bill Gates types that work at the software companies. They are gonna force us to upgrade if it is the last thing they do. I guess they are always wanting to upgrade their stuff too. They want to upgrade from a Caddy to a Mercedes then to a Bently all at they cost to us numbnut signmakers and the like.

We run Win98 on all 5 computers and plan to continue for the next few years. Diane won't use anything but CasMate (no support). I use Inspire (no support) for vectorizing because nothing else comes close. I'm stuck with GA6 (no support) for the Edge.

When I can't run 98 anymore I'll start cutting from Corel. One thing for sure, the big Sign software companies that abandoned support for very expensive software will never get another penny of my money.

Ernie,
Try using the DIRECT scanning preference in Casmate......then Vectorize in INSPIRE (maybe you're already doing that!)! When I hear all the problems everbody seems to have in programs like CorelDRAW with nodes and all that, I have to chuckle to myself, because I get perfect vectorizing with INSPIRE with one click!
