I have been an almost daily visitor here since 96, and have "met" and got to "know" so many people.
I am in the process of finally buying an Edge...so last night I decided to call Glenn Taylor!
We spoke for 30mins...the first few minutes I couldn't help laughing. After so many years here you build up images of those you are corresponding with, and being English I guess you don't account for the different dialects etc.
But if you're reading Glenn, I had a great chat with you....I think like in real life this place has its up and downs, we'll never all agree politically, religiously , or on morality, but what we do share together here is invaluable, and really makes the world a very small place.
Through this site and the endless help you can find here, I have made some great contacts, and helped my business no end.
Although its been said many times I think its hats off to Steve and Barb, and to all of us for focusing so much energy and passion for a lifestyle that we all cherish so much.
As a result of speaking to Glenn I have a new picture in my mind!....not that the last one was bad! But putting a voice to the person, and a bit of live interaction is a whole lot different.
I understand the bonding people have felt from live meets. Its a shame we are physically so far apart....otherwise I feel I would be attending loads of them.
Thanks again to all!
Its worth remembering in times of friction here, that people are alot more than the sum total of a few lines here on a controversial post.

Beautiful and so true Henry! It's amazing learning about each other, given our common grounds! I love the learning that takes place here! If this place were a magazine, it couldn't be printed enough. The interactive parts, like the BB and Chat are goldmines of opportunity on all levels. I know I've swept through here in a dancing frenzy, all excited about sompn. I get a few funny looks by most, however, come through here all deflated in a bloody pulp and the same crew picks you up and dries your tears and holds your hand through it.
That is priceless.
Okay the family issue addressed, there's the professional aspect.
Think of all the money and time that would be wasted if we couldn't hop onto the BB and ask questions.
We've watched some pretty exciting magic transpire on the Portfolio Page!
The Live Meets are too WOW for me to wrap my entire mind around. Shoot it takes a week to come down after one! ...and two more to realize what just happened!
I'll always feel endebted to Steve and Barb for their work with this, oh and Joe Rees for tellin me about it! man that was a ride, tryin to find a place like this that exsisted. I had no clue it did. Not only that wonderful surprise, but get up into the middle of Letterville, and the experience is awesome!
All the talent combined is mind blowing. Imagine what could happen if we were organised ha ha ha! Skeery ain't it!
Henry thank you for all your contributions to this forum! You're just as important as the rest of us! We are all part of an incredible whole! No matter how ornery we get LOL.

Yeah Henry, I'm with you... I came here knowing absolutely nothing...I speak to some great people, ask some stupid questions ( all of which are answered), and leave knowing slightly next to nothing...Many thanks to all.

When you first called, I was on the phone with a client. I after I hung up, my boss came to me and asked, "what have you done now? Somebody named Henry from Switzerland just called."
You should have seen the look on her face (and the staff's as they listened in).
I enjoyed our conversation, too. I hope my southern "twang" wasn't too thick.
Best wishes to you and your new adventure into digital printing. If there is anything I can do to help, feel free to contact me anytime.

I know what you mean too Henry! The first time Joey called I laughed so hard. He is so fun to chat with. Keeps you laughing non stop with his brutally honest way. Bob Burns is the same way......has that New Yawk accent and attitude! I love it. This Letterville has lots of good souls ...... When you have a day where you need a laugh...you get a call or an email from someone here in Letterville. The accents and voices are connected to the most kindhearted compassionate Letterheads. This is a great "neighborhood"! Where else could you go, looking for information on signwriting, and find your long lost Englishman cousin who lives in Sweden! LOL
Seriouslly, I've only been visiting here for a few weeks, but have been blown away by the generous sharing of, hard earned, wisdom. I too, came here knowing very little; and most of that was wrong. I've spent hours doing searches and reading posts. What an education I'm getting!
Thanks to all of you for your help. I look forward to putting voices with names and faces, at a live meet.

Thanx for the "plug" Cheryl. Most people think NewYorkers are arrogant and belligerant! That's not so! We're quiet,laid-back,helpful people! Do you buy that? I have a bridge in BROOKLYN I'll sell you!

Hey Henry- Call me sometime to endure my HORRIBLE Pittsburgh accent...it is by far the ugliest one in the USA, but strangely comforting to me. Aren't you the dude who posted the rude nude last year that set the BB on fire? You rock! I call Pierre Tardif in Quebec just to listen...I even made him talk to my neighbor lady one day. Her Pgh. accent is even worse than mine! The BB is priceless, as are Barb-n-Steve, all of yins, and even Old Paint. Love- JILL by the by, has anyone ever noticed that Mike Meyer & Rick Dolphens sound identical on the telephone?

Well...Gail you heard the best southern accent first, mine:)! Gail and Devo have an accent too but they were so much easier to understand than most of the English folks we came in contact with at the hotel. It really is nice to meet some of my family from Letterville at live meets! Henry..I think Glenn has a northern accent..he doesn't sound southern at all...guess you gonna have to call me to hear a REAL southern accent.Hahahaha! Hope you make a meet in the US soon,Henry! Thanks Steve & Barb for bringing us together and making the world seem smaller. Judy
