Is there anyone out there using this combination?

We've tried everything, but this PNC 1800 won't allow a page size larger than 125", which makes graphics longer than 10 feet impossible to cut without tiling. It's a 48" plotter, so graphics of these dimensions are fairly commonplace, especially when dealing with illuminated signfaces.

We've emailed both Roland and Cadlink, Roland says 'Its not our plotter, it's your software!'

Cadlink says 'Its not our software, its your plotter!'

Im wondering if anyone else has run into this problem, and if so, what you did if anything, to remedy it.

It's not my plotter, it's not my software, but NCS is always there to support Letterheads…

The maximum cutting area of your plotter was 3200 mm * 1175 mm. So you can't send any value higher than this one to this model. It's a technical limit of the Roland camm-1 PNC 1800. You can't modify it.

By the way, to plot larger files, you have to simulate it by software, creating various tiles of this maximum size. See with Signlab expert how to proceed. I know there are some excellent guys on this board.

Using my SignofNCS or MagiSign solution, it's just entering the size of the project in two fields and the software does the rest, asking you to provide another tile after the first one.

I keep at your disposal for any further (I have a PNC1800 manual if ever, the info is on page 117).

Rob..I checked the Roland driver "setup" file and as far as I can see, only the PNC 1000 and PNC 1050 are built with an internal length limitation. If you are so inclined you could check that out at www.rolanddga.com.

There is a wierd little ";" in front of those two particular model's drivers..all the rest, including the PNC 1800 seem OK.

Good Luck in your endeavours!!! [Smile]
