If you have a Hotmail e-mail account, you may have noticed that you're receiving more SPAM lately.
This is no accident.
Your preferences have been changed without your knowledge by Hotmail/MSN. Yahoo has also done the same thing. To verify this for Hotmail, and to change them back to reflect your preference to NOT be added to e-mail lists and to NOT have your e-mail address SOLD to other companies, here's what to do...
Log into your Hotmail account on the web - don't open your Hotmail account through Outlook Express or another 3rd party e-mail reader or you won't be able to change the preferences.
Go into Options then click on Personal Profile. Go down until you see where hotmail auto-checks
Share my e-mail address. Share my other registration information.
