I was talkin to my family back in Missouri and they all say "tain't no big deal Mikeyboy, nuttin' compared to "Ol' '93"". "Ol' '93" in case you don't know is the Flood of '93, one of the worst floods in recent history. It was pretty hairy but it resulted in bigger, better flood control so they shouldnt have any problems remotely close to that year.
Missouri people are no strangers to flooding, don't worry about them. This kinda flooding happens there EVERY YEAR. In fact, flooding is so common in MO the people that knowingly build houses in low areas build them up on stilts so the water just passes on by underneath 'em.
Personally, the constant flooding put a damper on my jetskiing activities.. the rivers were either too dry or flooded.. so that was one of the many many reasons for me to move to AZ, where ironically we have more boatable waterways.

You can't push the river, Stick. I did a lot of kicking back on the levee in Algiers across the creek from the Big Easy. Built a few coffee tables with wood washed down there from the great white north in the Spring. Glad to hear you folks are doing OK.

The flooding here in MO is pretty common this time of year. The river bottoms of the North are underwater and the Mississippi river is high over on the East. Kinda interesting about where I live in the SW corner of the state,,, We have a lot of flash flooding from time to time. Last week we lost 3 people in this county to the rivers, and drainage ditches. One less than a block from my home. Two drove into running water, and one has now been declared a murder from a gang incident.

Well I wouldn't give up the river for anything, we're about 2 miles from it, this time of year you just watch the river levels to see if any side road you might take would be under water...Doesn't effect most people until it gets quite a bit higher.. We worry when the Old Miss starts flowing backwards like in 93! This is just a bunch of flash flooding then its gone!
Have a good one,
Shawn
