...Had to do some airbrushed lettering this week on a clients van in his paintshop. Got everything set up ,plugged in my compressor and nothing ,checked the connections ok tried a different socket even replaced the fuse still nothing Me and two sprayers we all tried,finally we give up and I ended up using their own airline to get the job done As I began to to pack up it dawned on me
If the compressor tank's already full it wont run! yep it was full
Anyone else had a 'senior moment'or are just like me Bloody stupid!

ummmmm . .. . I have a walk-in sandblast booth. I just finished blasting a HDU sign, and after taking a break, I noticed a part needed some more blasting. I doned the coveralls, put on the gloves and began blasting.... but .. . forgot the HOOD !!! Eyes full of grit, to say the least.

Boy Terry, the same thing happened to me when I was going to airbrush a gas tank. I was under a tight deadline and was starting to panic.I was too embarassed to say anything to anybody. I did tell my wife and that was like putting it on the 6:00 news. I have a 4.5 hp, cast iron, 26 gal. compressor that is only a couple of years old. I was ready to take it in to someone to check out the motor or the electrical. I started to disconnect things when I heard,"fsssssssssss!". Yup, mine was full too. What a dork (I am).

I read a little sign in an office today , it had a cartoon of an old man and said never pass a bathroom, take advantage of every hard on(sorry ladies...that's what it said) and never trust a fart! That last one hits home! I could nock a bird out of a tree!

Well, I wasn't really going to tell this to anyone, but.... today I got terribly irritated with my computer, it suddenly made this unnerving high sound, not loud but really annoying.I klicked and moved and wiggled and even gave it a few slaps, switched the monitor on and off and walked away from it for a while. Nothing helped. I entertained the thought of asking on the BB if anyone had an idea what to do but figured it was to stupid a question. Finally I shut everything down as a last resort- the beeping continued because the cordless phone next to me was still on ... Boy, was I glad I never posted that question here

I got a haircut today. Tried to get in last Saturday but the barber was booked. Today I just could not take it anymore... had to get it cut or go crazy.
I noticed that each time I get my hair cut, considerable more time is spent removing hair from my ears. There's your senior moment.

I was in my shop last summer working when a un-nerving squeal goes off and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. My helper and I looked in all places including the home but after what seemed like 1/2 hour I discovered the battery in my pager was just low and it was in my shirt pocket. I felt like a complete idiot!

i spent sum time over the weekend working in another sign shop in my area, one of my sons and i were there to set up an office network (4 machines) get the plotter, digi printer/desktop printers, scanners, internet... in short 'the lot' to work
we had the help of 2 of his friends, both very talented boys who have endless abbilities where puters are concerned, with all that 'high tech' stuff going on late into both evenings about an hour before the finish line we were fast approaching our 'loss of sence of humour' point
all of a sudden the alarm system in the workshop started reacting with a low beeping noise, 3 of us ran around looking for what could have set off the system, while my son rang the monitoring base to tell them that,while we wernt the owners of the shop, we also were not breaking in, so please dont send the police cars screaming into the parking lot
it took a lot of explaining before the call centre decided to ring the owner to verify what we had said was true, while my son was on the phone the siren started blaring and people came from the other buildings to see what was happening, the boys ran around explained that it was just a false alarm and calmed the situation down
the 4 of us went back to work desparate to get the job done so that we could leave when all of a sudden the #@#$% alarm started all over again with its low beeping.
this time we knew what to do, ring the command centre, go explain to the neigbours etc. after it was all over, while we were grumbling about stupid alarm systems that go off for no reason, i reached into the pocket of my jeans to grab my lighter and guess what i found?
the work shop keys with the remote device for the alarm system,(to turn it on and off)
i realised that each time the alarm had activated i was crouched down under a desk attaching cables to puters
yup, the remote was in my pocket and i had been pressing the on button each time without realising it, cause the doors were open the alarm went off
i didnt tell em i felt like such a fool
good thing they dont read this board

I once ran some battery powered remote sensors on a job and forgot to put the batteries in. We went through all the motions, and I had recorded every event that would help me identify what was going on 15000 ft below us in the ground. When the tranducers came back up, I was stunned when I opened the case and didn't find the batteries. I looked at my extra batteries and figured none had been installed. The customer came looking for the information, and I told him we didn't get anything. Before I could say anything else. His words were "That's why I don't like to spend the money on those damn things, they never work." I told him I knew what the problem was and could fix it for the next scheduled run. When I got the info the 2nd time around the guy thought I was a genius.
