A customer wants to paint a compass design(2 colors) on cement and paved walkways as well as on a large stone as part of a park's wayfinding system. Any ideas on what could be used as a stencil and what type paint to use on such rough materials?

For a lasting job on concrete you use acid dyes. There are many colors available. You apply the acid color with a brush or spray... you can vary the color by how much you water it down and how long you leave it on before you rinse it down.

The color goes right into the concrete. You put a clear sealer (specialty product from the same source) This makes everything brighter=n up. Its available in glossy and low luster.

Check with a concrete specialty store. Your local redi-mix plant should know where they are in your area.
