I have a client interested in a sandblasted sign. After a search for a company who wholesales to the trade, the website for Sharp Signs seemed to be high on the list.
I know they are not a Letterville Merchant, however, has anyone heard of them or done business with them?
Their website is helpful. They have a sandblasted sign "calculator" that gives you the wholesale price right away, and INCLUDES painting and shipping. I'm just not sure of the quality or if their prices are even level with the industry.
Can anyone spare a few thoughts about them? Or give me some insight on their pricing?

how about posting more specs here on the sign and maybe some members would be willing to bid on it for you. Personally, I only do HDU signs and I ship world-wide. I'm currently working on signs from California to New York to Florida. So, shipping is not a problem. my website

Sorry John, I never thought about adding the specs to see if someone here could do it for me.
The sign size would be about 18" X 48". It's for a dentist. Basically all he wants so far is his name on the right and a tooth on the left. I will be submitting artwork whenever he decides (if he decides that he wants it). The background he wants a dark green and the text he wants a gold color (leaf or paint? - not sure). I'm not sure about the tooth color, either. I guess either white or gold.
That's basically all I know right now. I was just looking for some pricing to give him a rough estimate.
Also, what would a good mark-up be for a sign like this? I want to be in the general area of the retail price of the industry. He is also MY dentist, so I would prefer to keep him happy for my next visit

Randy, I produce sandblasted HDU signs for $65.00 S.F. I have no trouble selling to sign shops or to the general public at this price. I have done several dental signs and handcarve a nice molar for an applique. I think a white enamel tooth looks better than a goldleafed one. As for a markup,,,, call around to several sign shops in your area to see what a sign of this nature goes for. Then, you will have an idea of what your market will bear.
