i hope this starts are real good thread.
CUTTING THICK VINYL (For CorelDraw versions 5 to 9)
With reflective, phosphorescent or any other vinyl that is too thick for your plotter to cut, you can duplicate your lettering on exactly the same position by pressing the "Plus" (+) key. By doing this your plotter will run the blade over the lettering twice. This principal will also work in other sign-cutting applications.

CAUTION

On some friction feed plotters this will NOT work. The material will travel slightly and needs to be cut in one pass. It happens mainly on long cuts.

Please be carefull, the reflectives and such are expensive...good luck.

I tried the "plus" trick and it apparently won't work with Sign Wizard. But, here is the way I do it:

click on the object and select "layout",select "step-repeat", then select "distance from origin", set the "step" to zero and "repeat" to "2". You can do it in either the x or y coordinate.

It sounds like a lot of steps but it really isn't.
I have an icon bar beside the layout window.

Curtis, my Roland CAMM-1 does just fine on the thick vinyls on the first pass. My problem has been on the Anchor 117 sandblast mask only cutting 3/4s way through. That is when I used your method of cutting twice.
I met the Anchor rep ( Mary Redding ) at the Orlando sign show and she introduced me to two new masks that cut better than any vinyl. It is the 130 and T227 which is awesome for HDU and glass work.
