I am having one heckuvva time getting Fontographer to do the final creating of a TTF. I do all the art, on the proper layer. All the other stuff, then attempt the final step of GENERATING the font, and nada!! I am using the "Easy" plan when I do this. Any ideas mates???? I'm up to my neck in Funnelweb spiders on this one!

The first and most important question is, what version of windows ae you using? I use "fontographer" to create our "Mr.J's Classic Fonts vol. 1.I'm not an expert, but maybe I can help.

Mr J, I am using Win98. Fontographer 4.1, a "student" version, and I am hoping this has nothing to do with the problems. It has been said by others, the student version may not be Upgradable is all. I just cannot seem to get it right to Generate the font. Someone else HAS generated one on their Fontographer from MY file, but I still canoot get it to work here. Perhaps I am not holding my tongue right? I am coming back to the San Francisco area for a week, so I know what I will be reading and reviewing on the 14 hour flight, the User's Manual. Maybe when I get back something will work correctly.

Victor, thanks mate, I contacted DNA and have a dialog going.....
Curtis, I've been to your site, copied everything, and will read on the plane to California. You are using Mac tho, I am using Corel on a PC, so we shall see what applies.
Cheers, Bill

Austrailia?, no wonder it doesen't work. Just kidding Bill. It took 3 phone calls to Macromedia only to have them tell me that "Fontographer" will only work up to (& below) Windows "97". They also said that (at this time) there were no plans to "upgrade" the program. I had to purchase a computer(used) with Windows '97 that is devoted to "Fontographer" exclusively.I use "Flexi 6.8" to create & edit the fonts & use "Fontographer" to generate my "Classic Fonts Vol. 1", without a hitch. Well almost, it seems that if you want to generate "Mac" type 1 fonts you need to generate them on a "Mac", using a "Mac" version of "Fontographer" Hope this helps.
