Seeing as I've been getting inquiries to the state of my foot injury, I thought I would mention it....
My foot still hurts a bit, will be in a cast for the next two weeks, that's until they x-ray it again and put me in a third cast ...
They tell me it's a serious break and will have to be watched closely.
I'm mostly frustrated because I'm missing this weekend's meet and a month of traveling around New England and Upstate New York.
The Landlord tells me he has no personal injury liability insurance on his rental property...oh, and he says...he's 'sorry'.
It's been almost a month and he's not even come over to inspect the deck or offer to make repairs or anything.
I've been turned away from so called injury lawyers due to his lack of insurance.
Apparently, if it involves more effort than a letter to an insurance co. they don't want anything to do with it......I'm getting an education in bureaucracy here.....
So....I've contacted a legal firm in San Francisco that has dealt with lawsuits over deck injuries who is very interested in my case...I'll let you know if it goes anywhere after I talk to them next week.
Meanwhile I'm getting caught up with paperwork and sorting clutter....oh, and watching cooking shows...!
If I'm lucky I'll be able to go to Cowtown in June...and maybe Mars too!
Thanks to everyone who has called and emailed, I can't tell you how much it has ment to me.

A, I can hardly imagine the anxiety you could face in that situation. I hope you can get dropped of at interesting sites with a sketch pad or an easil to paint. That might be a way to turn this thing around and see something good emerge from the tragedy.
ALso, A, as much as I hate to do the lawyer trip, it sure sounds like time for that considering the landlords lack of responsiveness. He's probably scared to open his mailbox every day.

My first thought, of course was to get a lawyer quick!!! I was so angry....
But I cooled my heels and waited to see what might happen, after all, maybe the Landlord might come over in a day or two and start ripping the deck out......well, maybe yeah, and monkeys might fly outta my.........
So....it's been almost a month and not a word....
Good idea Rick, I've been wanting to play around with a few ideas.... A:)

Sorry to hear of your injury Adrienne. Sounds like your landlord needs to do something. Wish you well and a speedy recovery.

Hope the foot heals OK. It does sound like a good time to concentrate on art. I hope you are snapping photos for possible future reference. It is pretty negligent on his part to not have insurance. Well, he sounds like a generally negligent kind of guy.
I'd shoot the photos and put plywood down for now, lest your good leg go through. You'd really be in a pickle then.
