I have a guy that is looking for this as the background for an exterior sign. Sign will be 4' x 12'.

Question is: Is there a sign supplier that offers this or is this something that I should look for at a metal specialties shop where the tooled "brushing" needs to be applied. OR, would you overlay with a metalized film... is there an acrylic? Need your input.

Thanks!

Hey Jeff I have ordered some metal from these guys and they could get just about anything. Or you may want to try a laminate some of them utilize real metal surface. If weight is an Issue I would really look into the High pressure laminate scene. They also have alot other super thin real meatal finishes, any way hope this helps. nation wide architectural metal
I dont have the address for the laminate folks but they pretty easy to find.

Are you talking interior or exterior? I have used a couple of different methods. There is a product out that I bought from calsak plastics that is like gatorfoam with a laminated brushed aluminum finish for interior work (although they claim its outdoor durable). I have also taken raw aluminum, polished it and then hit it with a scotchbright pad in one direction and it had a pretty nice "brushed" look. And finally I think I saw somewhere that DiBond was coming out with a brushed aluminum finished panel but cant confirm that one. I love that aluminum look, clean stuff.

Hey I found it, brushed alum dibond

One of our letterville advertisers here supplies a wide variety of metal finished substrates and sizes. Check out Dibond's latest products. http://www.alusuisse-comp.com/dibond_bio.html

This is actually a non-answer in your case...

You can get sheets of .032 brushed anodized aluminum from either Wrisco or Alliance. Alliance is available through local supply houses, we get ours from Montroy. Wrisco sells directly out of Florida. They probably have a website.

Over 8 feet we've always done it the hard way - buy raw aluminum sheet from a metals supply house and brush on a finish. Not fun. Looks good at a distance, not so great up close. Vic G
