Recently I was asked to give a seminar at the Columbus B.I.G. show on developing the proper hourly rate, and how to price your work with profitability in mind.
In developing the course materials, I wrote a software utility called ProfitWatch that helps sign shops determine the best hourly rate for their situation.

You are all quite welcome. Hourly rate is such an important issue in small business - especially service businesses - and isn't often given the time it deserves.

Fully understanding true hourly costs will come as a shock to a lot of small shops, but untill you understand your full costs how can you accurately estimate profits.
Amy, this is one utility that will pay for itself pronto.

Thanks Mark. I like it. It will prove to be most helpful.
One problem I've found (but its nothing serious) is that it barely fits vertically on my monitor screen. If I move the title bar up past the visible area (but not so far that I can't use the X), then I can access the tabs at the bottom. My screen display is 600x800. Just wondering if there's anyway to adjust the size of the program?

Like Amy, I too plan to get ESTIMATE somewhere in the future when I am not financially challenged.
Perhaps the software will help me achieve that goal.
Also, was passing through Winston via my regular job (railroad maintenance)a week or so ago when I thought about your mom. I stopped by and enjoyed her company for a few minutes. Sweet lady with a nice setup "among the trees".
Thanks again and have a good one!
