Like everyone else, the faster I can make my PC work the better I like it. Efficency makes us more money!

For coreldraw to open a second or two faster, right click on the shortcut you use to launch it and outside the "" marks, type in -nosplash . This will stop corel from loading the splash screen and go directly to the GUI. (I figured this one out when I was trying the -nosplash switch on every program I had installed [Smile] )

your target window (in the shortcut properties) should look something like this :
"C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics10\Programs\coreldrw.exe" -nosplash

Photoshop (actually all Adobe software) has always irked me the way they insist on the floating toolbars versus the docked (or at least dockable) toolbars of Corel and Microsoft. Finally, my prayers have been answered by some ingenious 3rd party software, available at : www.interfaceimprovement.com .

Their software 'hides' the toolbars and pallettes till you need them, which you call them the same way you retreive your hidden taskbar (if you do so with Windows). They have these enhancers for a bunch of programs with cluttered interfaces (i.e. - Illustrator, Pagemaker, Dreamweaver etc.). Definitely worth the $17 asking price! A free trial download is available.
