When I finally get to the point where I can refer to myself as a pinstriper, I won't be able to point to anyone in particular and say they taught me how to pinstripe. Instead the practical tips come from many different sources. Books and magazines are great sources. The net has proved a be another good source. Often when I get a chance, I'll re-read the How-To's here for a reference. Also couple of other sites provide How-To's. Thursday of last week, I was doing some late afternoon lettering and received a couple of good tips from Bill Preston. I also took a quick trip to Joey Madden's pinstriping website and did a quick read. By 7:00 Friday, I had finished all but 1 element of the job I was doing. It would be no problem to finish up early Sat. morning and avoid the problem of dew settling on wet paint and dulling the finish, that Bill tipped me on. All my colors were straight out of the can except 2. I had mixed enough to finish the job without remixing and didn't want to loose it and it was not worth dirtying new containers with the small amount. I remembered Joey's tip about Paint Sav and open containers. I already had Paint Sav and added a few drops to my cups of mixed colors. For good measure I put a piece of application tape across the mouth of the cup. The next morning I was able to finish with the pre-mixed paint without delay and remixing and matching paint. That tip on 1-Shot from the Urethane guru simply from the re-read of his site. Thanks JM
